πTHE DAILY OBSERVER-30: 03 July 2020 / 03:00π
Yet another milestone, the thirtieth edition of this publication. An interesting journey, watching and reporting events on this site as the group evolved over an eventful 30-day period. How these pages have moved through the entire range of human emotions and aspirations ranging from the subtlest to the grossest ! It started from Page 3 with romance, ended up in the middle page with philosophy/ spirituality. Comics, music, item numbers, visuals, politics, religion and military matters thrown in for good measure with sporadic spats to add to the entertainment. Vish began the day with a graphic visual of how the idiot box is literally filling trash into our heads. Same goes for social media. A periodical cleansing operation is a must, to retain sanity.
Nirbhye posted some lively pics of Mrs Bhui's birthday celebrations and there was much rejoicing. It is still unclear whether it was Panditji's birthday yesterday or not. All he did was enclose a well-written poem in Hindi . Hardly anyone bothered to take the trouble of opening the file and reading. Tendency is to treat with caution and suspiscion anything enclosed as a note in a pdf.Worth reading, Panditji is Rajpurohit. Alfred pointed out the importance of seeing how fortunate we are to be enjoying the comforts we do, rather than focussing on the minor discomforts. Naithani posted an article on the Entebbe raid. Murali set the spiritual tone by redefining happiness as something different from a life of perfection. In Saxy's opinion, the world is slowly but surely moving towards World War III. Prabhat Jha said that " Chapte Raho " is the battle-cry of the Jag Br to which Vidur replied that this branch does not battle but only cries. Katoch posted a moving video about a Holocaust heroine. It was nice to see photos of SBT visiting Saxy, who seems to be recovering fast. Ramu is also getting more and more active on this site with his timely comments.AK Roy Chaudhri made a brief appearance after his longish post some time back. Looks like people are getting back into regular business with the Unlock. Satbir posted the amazing story of Pagi and Sam Manekshaw. Just how many more such heroes do we have? The list seems to be endless. This reminded Alfred of his own personal experience with Brig Bhawani Singh and also of a desert commando operation, both of which he described in great detail. Wonderful experiences and tales of valour. Vinod Duggal posted a video on Punjabi Club whisky.Tekan's take on the Shiva-stuti posted by Vidur was that the politicians had destroyed such great traditions of Muslims singing Hindu devotionals and so forth. Shiv came up with a short birthday song on Smule for Panditji . Pratap Ghosh posted a video on the chariot race in Ben Hur. Bharat Bhushan posted a couple of letters by US auth in 1971 and Patton's ACR. Shiv posted a bhajan by the grand-daughters of MS and Murali posted another version of the same by Lata. Alfred wound up the day's proceedings with yet another video carrying a spiritual message - back to the centre page, everyone. Worth starting the day by watching this one. Let's see what today has in store for us.
