The Daily Observer: 11 July 2020

😎THE DAILY OBSERVER-38 / 11 July 2020: 03:39😎

Prabhat Jha was seen at his best last evening. His previous appearance was the day before with a photo and a caption - blabberer. Satish's video-post of some innovative farm equipment with an old Hindi instrumental playing in the background evoked a longish response from S Murali about the state of affairs in the farming sector in India. Prabhat's reply to this  was responded to by Murali with namaskarams. Satish and Prabhat discussed the issue till late in the night when both of them appeared to reach some kind of consensus. H Murali posted a joke about Alexa in the afternoon and repeated it late at night. Alfred posted what sounds like an incredible story of the present Kerala CM and Ajit Doval in days past. Nirbhye came up with what must be the longest ever post on WA -a story of Arunachal's hero. Shiv, who had been missing for the better part of the day, made an appearance and gave some predictions based on the planetary positions :-

"Wait for 12 July ... It will all be a history .. but new problems expected due to other planets like Jupiter and Saturn being Retrograde... Murkier problems expected in some time 12 July , 24 September and 15 Oct and 30 March 2021 being landmarks to watch and be wary of ."

Sashi Bhushan Tyagi, who had earlier posted a beautiful picture of Khuraptal showing his property there, said Good morming at midnight. Most of the day was occupied by the media item of the day - the "encounter killing " of Vikas Dubey.Even Nirbhye, sitting all that distance away could not resist taking a dig at " sab ka saath sabka Vikas ." Sawant had a lot to say on the subject and about the reactions of the human rights activists. SBT was the first one to break the news here.Others including Satbir followed with news clippings.Satish posted a nice letter on camraderie in the Army written by an Arty officer's widow. Shiv posted a nice old zippy number. He posted another song on Smule with his aged partner but this one was lost in the middle of all the discussion on the hot topic of the day. In Vidur's opinion, it was too respectable a death for a criminal. Rajbir posted a viral video of a monkey wearing a face-mask. Suresh Dikshit wished Good morning with fresh pink lilies from his garden and Sirohi with  a thought for the day - "politics pays better than crime", Alfred Newman. Now who is or was Alfred Newman, by the way? Satish re-posted on Zohnerism, posted some days back by Vidur.Worth going through again, in fact maybe even every day. Alfred posted a video on Shashi Tharoor speaking about globalisation - hilarious indeed. Saxi posted a video on the Nizam of Hyderabad, a lesser known facet of him.Bharat Bhushan posted a video on the Siddha way to health and H Murali an old post on Galwan. Arun posted about ruga of Jharkhand, a crop resembling mushroom.Love in Bihar, was the title of a video-post by Sanjay Mishra. Alfred posted about the health  benefits of bay leaves.Uttam Sarkar posted some naughty jokes.Nippy posted a video-joke, which seems to have been posted earlier too. Navnit seems to have posted by mistake to this group of youngsters, some tips for those growing old. Or maybe he deliberately wants the young members of this group to focus on things like planting trees and growing older while he starts his law course with youngsters. He should not forget that one senior citizen with a videocam and another even more senior citizen with a bucket of water are keeping constant watch on him from the rooftops. Satish closed yesterday's proceedings with a video and Umar started today with a Smule video of Patni from SS-32. Ramu is yet to send the details  of yesterday's gas sales.

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

The Chiwda Times: 2nd July 2020

CHIWDA TIMES

A short video-post on July 1 with a quote from Patanjali's Yogasutra got lost between other messages. A mere mention of it in the morning edition on July 2 did less than justice. So much wisdom encapsulated in so few words, not at all an easy task to elaborate within the confines of the morning edition. In fact there is the definite risk of misinterpretation and misunderstanding. Requires space of its own. Still a risky task, it reminds one of the first leap into the pool from the diving board--never know what it is like till it is actually attempted.

So here goes.

Is there actually a higher purpose to life other than the mundane humdrum routine existence ? i'm sure each one of us has faced this question in life at some point or the other and has searched for an answer . As Nirbhye pointed out,you can find anything by Googling except your own self. How does one do that ( finding oneself )? Guides and maps are available in plenty in today's hitech digital  world, but they can only point out a path to the destination. The actual journey has to be undertaken by each one of us by himself. The same guide  may not be suitable to all. Too much baggage is definitely a handicap  and the final leg has to be travelled in solitude.Patanjali's Yogasutras may be considered  as one such guide consisting of short euphorisms that are full of meaning. Each of the euphorisms can be interpreted in many ways and there are many existing commentaries on the yogasutras. Shiv's Guru has chosen one Sutra which says that every soul has to find its purpose, a way out of this mire of daily life - like a lotus arising out of mud. When an astrologer is focused on his work, there comes a moment when he Sun's energy shines in its full glory and energies him .The same goes for any other field, when one is totally focussed on the task at hand.

Born in the world ( that is like mud ), live like the lotus i.e. being in the mud grow out of the mud. Always have a higher purpose in mind. Just a little food for thought over the weekend for those interested. Mercury is still in retro, but who  cares, sanu ki ? Maybe Shiv can explain it better.
